You wear a lot of hats—you’re part HR, part project manager, part cat herder. But with the help of CompanyCam, you’ll be able to streamline your processes and keep your hat collection to a minimum.
Create Information-Rich Projects
Projects are the building blocks for everything in CompanyCam. This is where all job-specific photos, communication, and collaboration happen.
Your crew members and salespeople will be the ones taking and editing photos most often in projects. But there is one feature you’ll find yourself frequently using throughout a project—documents.
Documents
Documents are where you’ll upload paperwork like contracts, permits, receipts, and more for projects. Uploading docs is easy:
Build and Share Reports
Next to documents, you’ll see reports. Reports are where you can quickly build and share polished PDFs in minutes.
Reports can be created in the app or on a browser:
Go to the project you want to create a report for
Select the photos you want to include
Choose Reports and Create a New Report
Keep following the steps, and you’ll have a report ready in minutes
Keep Everyone In The Know
You’re in constant communication with all types of project stakeholders—crews, customers, and outside collaborators. The more people you communicate with, the greater chance for breakdowns and misunderstandings.
That’s why we encourage you to use CompanyCam as your single source for communication on a project. Use these key features to keep everyone up to date:
Mentions: To mention someone, type @ and their name. When you @mention someone, they’ll receive a push notification and an in-app notification.
Project timelines: Customers like to stay current on job progress. Project timelines do just that. Best of all, you just need to send the link once—all new photos will be automatically added to that same link.
Communicating Outside Your Company
If you frequently work with insurance agents or other subcontractors, you may want to consider adding them as restricted users. That way, they can access photos and documents they need instantly without the back and forth of calls and emails.
Other partners that you work with less frequently should be added as guest users. Guest users are free for you, and you can turn off their access at any time.
Use Checklists Lists for Employee Onboarding
Back to those hats of yours. If you’re responsible for employee onboarding, Checklists will be your best friend.
Here are a few tips for using Checklists to train your new employees:
Create a project for employee onboarding
Build your current onboarding checklist into CompanyCam
Be sure to include a list for both worksite and administrative tasks
Save your lists as templates so that you can use them over again
Building Checklists into your onboarding process is a two birds with one stone situation—you’re getting the information you need from them, and they’re learning to use CoCam!
Now you’re ready to get started with CompanyCam! As the rest of your company is added, you’ll likely have to put on your IT hat. Here are some helpful links to have on hand for when that happens:
