You already use CompanyCam to document your job sites, communicate with crews and customers, and store your day-to-day project details.
But did you know that you’re sitting on a treasure trove of data that you can use to grow your business?!
We talked to three customers who have “hacked” their CompanyCam projects to get more out of their photos and videos before, during, and after projects are completed. Keep reading to see what they did and how you can replicate it for your business!
1. Built service area location pages to boost local search visibility
Potential customers aren’t just looking for the services you provide. They’re searching for the “best [service] in [area]” who has experience doing that type of work in their nearest town, subdivision, or neighborhood.
As FBH Architectural Security was updating its website and exploring expansion, its team searched CompanyCam to see how many and what types of jobs they had completed in nearby areas.
With this data, they were able to create location pages that highlight the types of jobs they’ve done in those markets, complete with CompanyCam photo proof of that work. By showing and telling about their work with real job photos — and doing other website updates — they’ve seen double the traffic to their refreshed site.
🫵 How You Can Do It
After you’ve identified the neighborhoods you want to expand into or doubledown in:
Log in to your CompanyCam account on the desktop
Click “Map” on the left navigation bar
In the search bar, look up the neighborhoods you do or want to do more work in
Next, log in to your website and create pages for these targeted locations, using localized language and your CompanyCam project photos.
💡 Tip: If you don’t have a website, you can create a Portfolio site in CompanyCam! These no-code sites include your contact info, projects, and recent Google Reviews. Take a look.
2. Created digital showrooms to increase close rates
When you’re sitting across the table from a customer with nothing but a sample board, a sketch, and a piece of paper with a 5‑figure number on it, it can feel like you’re miles apart. They’re thinking, “Do I really need to do this project?” You’re wondering, “How quickly can I run to my truck?”
To help close the gap in a changing buyer journey, McComb Window & Door built virtual CompanyCam showrooms featuring real-life examples of what their Pella products look like installed in homes.
Typically, if a customer makes it to a brick-and-mortar showroom, they close at a high rate. But since 2020, more customers have been looking for an on-demand experience that comes to them, with more reps meeting clients in their homes and skipping the showroom altogether.
So they created sales-specific Reports that showcase what their windows and doors look like in nearby homes under real conditions, complete with progress photos of their prep and installation work.
🫵 How You Can Do It
There are tons of ways to show off your CompanyCam photos digitally. Here are a few, from easiest to most involved:
Embed a website gallery. Website galleries and map make it easy to showcase your recent work on your website in just a few clicks from your project.
Build Pages. Within a Project, you can create different Pages or use a Template to quickly build shareable PDFs of your work and the finishes and products you typically use.
Create a master sales Project. Add photos of shingle types and colors, plumbing fixtures, or whatever you install. This is a little more time-consuming, as you’ll have to download and upload photos from other projects as you go.
💡 Tip: Start simply by tagging your photos. With tags applied, you can instantly pull up examples of your work while on site with a customer.
3. Repurposed job site walks as social media content
Customers appreciate it when you regularly share photo and video updates, just ask West Coast Deck.
He and his site leads record daily updates using Dual Video Mode, showing the day’s progress and previewing the work scheduled for the next day. But they don’t just stop there.
They know how valuable this behind-the-scenes look at projects can be, both for prospective customers and in building a social media following on trades thought leadership. These videos are viewed by thousands, receive tons of replies from other pros who want to talk shop, and have helped them grow their following to 65,000+ across their accounts.

I record these video walkthroughs on @CompanyCam (sponsor me already) when I do site visits
I would like AI to transcribe the video and generate a semi complete scope of work based on my verbal description

🫵 How You Can Do It
This one’s a little more straightforward than the other tips: Start filming and publishing videos!
Video’s not only good for covering your butt — Guardian Heating & Cooling avoided a $75,000 lawsuit because a video proved a roof leak was not their fault — but it’s an incredibly valuable way to promote your business. Take some inspiration from these CompanyCam users:
Roofers: Forever Fortified created an educational video for current and prospective customers, highlighting the types of failures to watch for during inspections.
Painting: Five Star Painting of West Palm Beach toured a job in progress to show both their team at work and the amount of prep they do to ensure jobs run smoothly
HVAC: Allegiance HVAC highlighted a winner of their furnace/air conditioner giveaway and showed how they went above and beyond to fix other issues.
Landscaping: Rockwater Ponds toured a manufacturing partner’s facility, showing off their quality control process and how they install high-quality ponds.
Restoration: Ty from Restoration 1 shared a walkthrough of a home he purchased to fix and flip.
Whether you want to be in front of the camera or point-and-shoot, you should start capturing and repurposing your job site videos to showcase your team, processes, and expertise in your trade.
We love hearing how our users are putting CompanyCam to work on their jobs. We not only want to help make your job sites run more smoothly, but also help you find ways to use your CompanyCam captures to market your business and close more sales!
