June 2024 Newsletter

June 2024 newsletter header

The busy season is well underway, so we’ll keep this month’s updates to just a handful of the most important things you need to know about in and around your favorite job site app.

This month, we have three new integrations to highlight, a couple of key functionality updates, and one new podcast you should check out.

Let’s jump in!

New & Improved Integrations

Work smarter with these new integrations.

Fully Released: QuickBooks Online™

Our team just added the finishing touches to this much-requested integration.

After connecting CompanyCam and QuickBooks Online, you can create new CoCam projects from new or updated Customer, Invoice, or Estimate entries and send your CompanyCam photos back to QuickBooks Online to be used in Estimates, Invoices, or Customer Records.

Simplify your customer management, get your photos where needed, and operate more efficiently than ever.

New: Beam

Beam is an all-in-one financial automation software for contractors.

With this integration, new Projects created in CompanyCam will make a matching entry in Beam, and any photos and documents added to CompanyCam will sync back to the Beam project.

Connect the integration: CompanyCam + Beam.

New: Rilla

Rilla is the leading virtual ride-along software for the home improvement industry. The tool uses AI to automatically transcribe, analyze, and provide feedback on customer conversations, helping teams improve their close rates and saving sales managers dozens of hours every month.

This integration syncs all the photos your sales reps take in the field into your virtual ride-along, allowing you to coach them thoroughly by hearing and seeing what they see.

Bonus: If you’re looking for simple and effective ways to move your photos and organize your teams, don’t sleep on the CompanyCam Chrome Extension and CompanyCam + Google Calendar integration.

In-App Updates

Zhushed up features and user experience.

Quick Caption UX Update

After you snap a photo, your actions are one step away: Tap Description to use our new Quick Caption tool; tap the keyboard to type; or select the squiggle to start marking up your image with text, objects, and stickers.

Note: Quick Caption is enabled by default. If you don’t see a Quick Caption prompt after you take a photo, check your camera settings to see if it’s toggled off.

Project Tasks

Last month’s newsletter tasked you with trying our new Project Task functionality. Did you check them off? As a reminder, you can now create tasks from videos and hide completed Tasks.

Quick tip: Tasks are perfect for noting quick, one-off things you need your team to address on a job, pick up from the shop, or share with everyone on site. But if you’re looking for a more standardized documentation process, take some time to build out checklist templates!

Good Contractor: Your Favorite New Podcast

What does it mean to be a good contractor? Each week, CompanyCam CEO Luke Hansen and CompanyCam not-CEO John Talman invite a new guest to share their experiences and try to answer what being a good contractor means.

Get it where you get your older, less favorite podcasts: Apple Podcasts + Spotify.

#ProTips (for Pro + Premium Features)

Do more things in less time with these three features.

Project Templates

Take some time to set up a Project Template for each type of service you offer, including specific checklists, reports, and documents for each type of job. For example, a plumber should create unique templates for sewer, water, gas, and water heater projects.

These will help your team work faster, gather all the required documentation, and ensure it’s all done to your standards.

Pages

Pages is our customizable digital notebook, located in each of your Projects.

Payments

Payments is the perfect tool for collecting deposits for upcoming work and quick service calls.

Offer your customers more ways to quickly pay — and ensure you leave with money in your pocket.

And as always, we squashed a few bugs and enhanced the performance across the app.

We’ll be back next month with another round-up full of features. Until then, we hope you can put these updates to work so you can spend more time enjoying your summer and less time doing busywork after you get off work.

Christian is known round these parts as the silent wizard — whipping out editing, researching, and strategizing skills like it’s nobody’s biz. As a Content Strategist, he stays busy assisting our Product and Activation/Retention teams with all their content needs — all while staying as quiet as possible. (Heaven forbid he’d talk too much.)

After work, Christian can be found hanging out with his beautiful wife Ruth, playing catch with his dog Sunday, rewatching that one Indian reality TV episode he starred in (#famous), or making dumb vides on his fine. Go on, Christian. Share your work with the class.
