Quoting the same services and materials across jobs means your team uses a lot of the same pricing. Price Book stores those commonly used line items so you can add them to proposals and invoices when needed, with the item name, description, unit price, and unit type ready to go.
Here’s what Price Book does, who can use it, and how to set one up.
How the Price Book tool works
Many jobs use the same services, materials, or labor costs. Tear-off, underlayment, labor by the square, or whatever your trade regularly quotes.
Price Book gives your team a shared source for item names, descriptions, unit prices, and unit types. When a Proposal or Invoice needs pricing, you can pull saved items from Price Book and adjust them for the job when needed.
You can also create Proposals without adding Price Book items or pricing.
Where to find it
Price Book lives in the left-hand navigation on the CompanyCam web app. Click Price Book to see every line item your team has saved.
Creating and managing line items is available on the CompanyCam web app. You can save a line item to Price Book while working from mobile, but editing and deleting saved items happen on the web app.
Add line items directly
To build your Price Book from scratch:
- Open Price Book from the left-hand navigation.
- Click + Add Item.
- Fill in a name, description, unit price, and unit type.
- Click Add Item to save it.
Repeat for the services or products your team uses regularly. Once they’re saved, you can add them to Proposals and Invoices when needed.
Save items straight from a Proposal
You can build your Price Book as you create proposals. Save line items you expect to use again so they’re available for future jobs.
To save a line item from a Proposal to Price Book:
- Open the Project and Proposal you’re working on.
- Go to the line items section and select the item you want to save.
- Toggle on Save to Price Book.
- Click Save Item.
Once saved, the line item will be available in Price Book for future proposals and invoices. If an item with the same name already exists, CompanyCam will ask you to rename the new item before saving.
Import a price list with a CSV
Already have pricing set up somewhere else? You can import it into Price Book with a CSV file.
To import multiple line items into Price Book:
- Open Price Book from the left-hand navigation.
- Click Import from CSV.
- Add the CSV file with your existing price list.
- Make sure the column headers match CompanyCam’s fields: Item Name, Description, Unit Price, and Unit.
- Complete the import to add the items to Price Book.
Once imported, your saved items will be available to add to proposals and invoices when needed.
Manage and update line items
As your services and costs change, you can update the items saved in Price Book.
To edit or delete an existing Price Book item:
- Open Price Book from the left-hand navigation.
- Find the line item you want to update.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the item.
- Select the option to edit or delete the item.
Admin and Manager roles can edit or delete saved line items. Standard and Restricted roles can use existing Price Book items and save new items from proposals.
Add Price Book items to an invoice
When you create an Invoice, you can pull saved services, materials, and pricing directly from Price Book. This lets you itemize charges using information your team has already saved.
To add saved pricing to an Invoice:
- Open the Invoice you’re working on.
- Add a line item from Price Book.
- Select the saved item you want to include.
- Adjust the quantity or other details for the job as needed.
- Add the item to the invoice.
The saved item provides the service, material, or pricing information your team already has on file while letting you adjust the invoice for the specific job.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I try to save a duplicate item name?
CompanyCam checks the name against your existing Price Book before saving. If an item with the same name already exists, you’ll be prompted to rename the new item.
How do I bulk import my existing price list?
