There are a lot of features in CompanyCam, like a lot. And as we talk with our users about what features they’d love to have, we noticed that some of the things that you’d most like to see are already in the app!
This one is on us.
We compiled a list of the top 5 most commonly requested, but already there features and decided to show you exactly how to use ‘em! Prepare to be mind-blown.
Photo Reports:
Photo reports are probably a huge part of your job, especially if you’re working with insurance adjusters.
- Our Photo Report tool is hosted in the desktop/web app, so first things first — get to your computer.
- Go to the project you need to create a report for.
- Select the photos you want to include in the report.
- Hover over “Reports” in the top navigation bar, click “Create New Report.”
- Customize and add any relevant notes to each photo’s description.
- Save the report and share it!
You can either share the link CompanyCam automatically generates, or you can download the PDF and attach it to an email or print it out — whichever suits your needs!
Project Timelines:
Project Timelines are one of the best ways to communicate progress with your customers. Project Timelines give you the ability to keep home owners up to date with progress on their home, without extra phone calls or work on your end. Simply share a link with your customer and they’ll be able to see new photos roll in as soon as they’re added to the project.
Tags & Search:
Adding tags to photos is a great way to make them easier to find later or categorize certain types of project tasks.
In the app, simply click the ‘tag’ icon on a photo and you can either select a pre-made tag or create your own. Later on, you can filter photos by the different tags you’ve created and used, making it super easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.
GPS Stamp:
Adding the GPS stamp to photos is a handy, somewhat hidden feature. This one is especially useful for anyone doing government work or contracting.
When you open the camera to take a photo in CompanyCam, click the ‘settings’ icon in the bottom right. In the menu that pops up, turn the “Stamp Lat/Long” setting on, and all the photos you take will have the latitude and longitude stamped in the bottom right corner. You can also add a date and time stamp to all your photos in the same menu.
Photo Uploading:
Uploading photos to CompanyCam projects is handy when you forget to take pictures in the app or if you have pictures being sent to you from the home owner, a subcontractor, or someone who’s working on the site but not using CompanyCam.
Simply go to the project you want to add photos to and click the little blue ‘plus’ icon in the bottom right corner. Select ‘Add Photos from Device,’ and upload any photos you’d like to have added to the project. Easy as that!
Not all of these will seem like huge, mega-features that blow your mind or completely alter the way you look at the world, but they are all incredibly useful and helpful on the job.
