LET’S TACO BOUT IT!

Taco Bout It started four years ago with the mission to educate viewers on industry insights and let Gogan eat hundreds of tacos in peace. Four seasons later and every episode still brings the heat!

Since COVID-19, there have been lots of changes, challenges, and chances to grow — that’s what Taco Bout It Season 4 was all about. For many, it took a pandemic for us to think through how we do business.

Season 4 had some of our favorite friends in the industry, and things got real. These gurus spoke about their experiences, advice, and life lessons for contractors and leaders alike.

Follow along below for a brief recap, and click the links to tune into the whole episodes.

In S4E1, Michael Gogan was joined by Pate Smith of McClenny, Moseley and Associates. They talked about changing diapers, eating good BBQ, obsessing over your pipeline, and the necessary changes that took place within their businesses this past year. Pate shared advice on the importance of networking and putting yourself out there online.

S4E2 is all about sales, sales, sales! Michael Gogan was joined by Chuck Thokey. Michael and Chuck talked about how to avoid sales burnout, manage a large sales team, and find a coach that fits your culture. Contractor sales processes evolved tremendously in 2020 — Chuck explains what moves need to be made.

S4E3 is with the one and only TJ Ware of Paradise Claims! Michael and TJ discuss the importance of keeping and developing good employees. TJ says putting relationships first makes all the difference. Listen in for tips on building authentic friendships and setting the foundation for future success.

S4E4 hits hard with Jon Broce of Ugly Roof. Jon and Michael could talk for hours — so this episode is filled with good content! They talked about how business owners adapted in 2020, why collaboration is key, and how building trust with customers starts with asking the right questions.

For S4E5, we were joined by Troy Clymer of Balance Claims and SIRC. Troy has been on Taco Bout It every season, so he must be saying something right. Troy and Michael discussed EOS, business planning, company growth, and how to set a solid foundation. Learn how to scale, exit, and set goals in this episode.

S4E6 focuses on employee training, hiring the right people, and providing good customer service. Michael breaks those ideas down with Ben Fisher, the owner of Big Fish Contracting. They dig deep on the importance of treating your people well, keeping culture strong, and training your team.

In S4E7 Michael is joined by Paul Reed, owner and president of Northwest Roofing and founder of Commercial Roofing Academy and Roofers in Recovery. He has an impressive list of titles, but his mindset and attitude are even more so. Michael and Paul discuss positioning oneself and seeking out long-term success, even during a pandemic.

S4 Finale Michael is joined by none other than Luke Hansen, our founder and CEO. Michael and Luke talk all things CompanyCam: growth, new integrations, upcoming features, plans for the future, and mullets.
