We got the chance to visit and hang out with another awesome local Lincoln, Nebraska business: BK Restoration and Remodeling!

Aside from being great people with a passion for helping those in need, BK Restoration and Remodeling is also an avid user of CompanyCam. We had the chance to sit down with Jeff Koepke, President of BK Restoration, and Mark Bartolome, Vice President of BK Restoration, and see how CompanyCam plays a role in their day-to-day operations.
As is the case with almost any business, keeping communication clear and concise was creating some problems for BK Restoration.
“Communication is key, and we found that to convey the information properly from the office to the field was difficult,” said Koepke.
When Koepke and Bartolome implemented CompanyCam into their process, they saw a turnaround in how the office and project managers were able to communicate with subcontractors and crews.
“Every subcontractor or employee is gonna have issues on a project. CompanyCam has helped us solve a lot of problems because we’re able to interact with the people out in the field. They’re able to send us real time photos of issues as they come up and we can track the progress of the jobs throughout the day,” added Bartolome.
Koepke also gave us some insight into their process before CompanyCam and why it just wasn’t cutting it: “Before CompanyCam I would have to go to the job sites daily, take progress pictures, bring those photos back on a camera, download them on my computer, and then worry about storage of that data. Time is money.”
“I’ve already recommended it to multiple people, just for the time savings. We’ve gotta use technology to our advantage and CompanyCam does the trick.”
“It’s very helpful to know what’s going on at the job sites for someone who’s trying to oversee those projects without having to be there all the time,” said Bartolome. “A lot of that we can handle by looking at the photos without necessarily going to the project, which frees our time up to take on a higher volume of projects.”
CompanyCam has been able to play a critical role in how BK Restoration handles their load of projects and clients, and has helped cut down on mistakes.
“Most of all, it saves error. We can all communicate with a photo. Everyone understands what’s in a photograph, it becomes crystal clear. So if we know that something has gone wrong or unexpected issues pop up — which they always do — we’re able to deal with those immediately,” said Koepke. “It’s a huge record keeping system that saves a lot of hassle.”
Koepke and Bartolome are extremely passionate about their work and doing the best job in the shortest possible time in order to get people back in their homes. They realize the important role that technology plays in streamlining business communications and aren’t afraid to try new things out.
