We work with contractors every day, and have the privilege of seeing their direct impact on the world — building, fixing, and shaping it around us. We also know they don’t always get the recognition they deserve, as trades work is often invisible.
The Do Good Work campaign aims to correct this by highlighting the good work real contractors do in their communities.
We partnered with real companies and contractors to share their stories and inspire the next generation to pursue the trades and continue their work. Get to know them:
American Home Contractors
American Home Contractors has been a leading home contractor in Maryland and Virginia since 1986. While they initially specialized in roofing, they’ve since grown into solar and energy, which now accounts for more than 50% of their business.
A Legacy of Dedication
At American Home Contractors, a family-like atmosphere and over 100 years of combined experience shape the way work gets done. Many team members have been with the company for decades, setting the standard and passing it on.
Good work is consistent work. The team shows up with care, takes ownership, and does the job right the first time. That’s why the work lasts — and why it matters.

Chuck Fistek: Learn by Doing
Chuck Fistek found his path through hands-on work. After leaving his electrical apprenticeship, he built real skills across trades like crane operation, groundwork, roofing, and framing. Today, he leads as the Roof and Gutter Technician Manager at American Home Contractors.
Like others in his family, Chuck felt at home in construction. “The trades came more natural to me… the way I learn, the way I experience stuff.”
His story shows what the trades offer — a way to build a career through hard work and real experience. Every roof and gutter his team installs is work that lasts and work people can trust.
BK Restoration & Remodeling
When disaster strikes a home, families are left with damage they didn’t plan for and often don’t know how to fix. BK Restoration & Remodeling helps homeowners rebuild what’s broken. The team doesn’t just rebuild homes — they help people through some of the hardest days of their lives.
Helping Rebuild After Loss
BK Restoration has worked in the restoration and remodeling industry since 1985, so they understand how stressful insurance claims can be. That’s why they take that pressure off the family and work directly with insurance companies. This helps avoid delays and gets repairs started faster.
Good work is more than fixing what’s broken. It’s showing up with care, doing the job right, and helping people feel safe again. BK Restoration’s focus on quality and compassion builds more than homes — it builds trust with the families they serve.

Robin Ferguson: More Than Just a Job
Robin Ferguson started her career in marketing after graduating from Arizona State. But office life didn’t feel right. She found more meaning in being out in the field — on roofs, at job sites, solving real problems for real people. That shift led her to the trades, where she now serves as operations director at Phoenix Roofing & Repair.
Robin’s story shows how the trades offer more than just a job. They offer a clear sense of purpose. Every day brings a new challenge, and every project brings visible results. It’s work you can stand behind because you can see the impact.
True North Custom Homes
True North Custom Homes has completed over 133,000 square feet of custom home projects since 2020. The team’s goal is clear: build homes their customers love and their employees are proud to create.
Custom homebuilding takes focus and precision. Every decision matters. True North centers their work on quality and client experience. That approach has earned them three Best Of Awards in just five years, but more importantly, it’s earned the trust of the people they build for.

Work You Can Stand Behind
True North’s team isn’t just building houses — they’re creating spaces where families live, grow, and make memories.
Good work leaves a lasting mark. It reflects the care put in by the people who do it. When employees take pride in the work, it shows in the details. It shows in the way homes look, feel, and function.
Do Good Work
The trades are filled with people who show up every day to do good work—work that protects homes, supports families, and builds stronger communities. These stories highlight what that looks like in practice: care, commitment, and pride in every task.
Contractors don’t always get the recognition they deserve. Their work is often behind the walls, under the roof, or buried underground. But that doesn’t make it any less essential.
Good work deserves to be seen. Good work deserves respect. And the people doing good work deserve to be recognized.
